About Us

History

Wall Crawlers Rock Climbing Gym is located in the renovated Strand Town Movie Theater in downtown Whitewater. In 1997 the Strand Town Theater was converted to rock climbing gym, Vertical Reality. Vertical Reality later evolved into Rock Sports rock climbing gym and underwent another renovation and expansion. In August, 2005 John, a frequent climber at both Vertical Reality and Rock Sports opened Wall Crawlers Rock Climbing Gym. Wall Crawlers has worked to develop a relationship with the community and the university. Climbing Classes are offered through the Whitewater Parks and Recreation department. The University of Wisconsin Whitewater teaches two classes at the gym and sponsors a student run recreational sports club at Wall Crawlers.
